The wait is finally over as BCCI has announced the Indian Squad for ICC World Cup 2019.

BCCI National Cricket selection committee which has five members and led by MSK Prasad has announced the 15 members squad for World Cup.
The major highlight of this announcement is, KL Rahul, Vijay Shankar and Dinesh Karthik have been included in this squad, whereas Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant were unable to secure their place for the World Cup 2019.
The biggest question that was asked before squad announcement was who will be the choice for No. 4 spot between Vijay Shankar and Ambati Rayudu. And at last Vijay Shankar won the race and found his name in the list.
There will be seven specialist batsmen with the team in the form of Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni(wk), Kedar Jadhav, KL Rahul and Dinesh Karthik.
There is quite good mixture of alrounders in the Indian team for World Cup like Hardik Pandya, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja and Vijay Shankar Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit.
Dinesh Karthik has been given preference over Rishabh Pant as the reserved wicket keeper.
There will be three main pacers, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami. Vijay Shankar and Hardik Pandya will fill the spot of fourth and fifth pacer with their medium pace bowling.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav will travel with the Indian team to UK as the two main spinners and Ravindra Jadeja will fill the spot of third main spinner.
While announcing the team today in BCCI Mumbai Headquarters, Chairman of selectors, MSK Prasad gave explanation that why Vijay Shankar was picked over Ambati Rayudu. He said we have been keeping an eye for this position for a long time. Vijay Shankar is included in the team because he is three dimensional and he will the good choice to bat at No. 4.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are sure to open the innings while KL Rahul will there as reserved Opener.
