Galle Top order batsmen Sandun Weerakkody, Lahiru Thirimanne (c), Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Mendis were not able to led the team batting against Colombo in the last match. At least two of these top batsmen have to score big runs in the Final match. Minod Bhanuka, Wanidu Hasaranga and Lahiru Madushanka with 37, 56 and 42 runs exhibited some great batting down the order in the last match. They will also have massive role to play with in this Final of Super Provincial One Day Tournament.
Lasith Malinga didn’t play last match but he is likely to play the Final. Lasith Malinga, Dhammika Prasad and Dhananjaya de Silva have to ball at their best from the start and look to take wickets at quick successions.
Colombo Team
Colombo openers Avishka Fernando and Upul Tharanga gave perfect start to the team in the last match against Galle which ended without any result. They made 55 runs in just 7.1 overs before rain interupted the play. The Colombo openers will look to start on the same notes in the final and go a long way by giving solid start to the team again. Shehan Jayasuriya who made 115 runs against Kandy along with Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Perera can also lead the team to big score with important contributions.
Akila Dananjaya with 5 wickets in the last game, dig the holes in Galle batting. If he will be his best again, then its again going to be a nightmare for Galle batsmen.
